Mr. Juan Garza, Principal
 
Mr. Juan J. Garza, Jr. is the Principal at the Mercedes Academic Academy and DAEP. With seventeen years of experience, Mr. Garza possesses a unique
insight into the diverse student population that exists at Mercedes ISD since he has worked within a wide spectrum ranging from paraprofessional, Special Education teacher, ACE Site Coordinator, District Summer School Coordinator, and Assistant
Principal at both elementary and secondary settings.
Mr. Garza has extensively worked with at-risk students in both Special Ed and alternative educational settings. Consequently, this has allowed him to have a better insight as to how to work with all students as he reinforce the standards, policies, and goals that are required of a campus administrator.
 
 
 
 
 
The Mission of Mercedes Academic Academy is to provide a place for second chances and new beginnings for our students. By utilizing individualized instruction, computer aided-instruction, and self esteem enhancement, our quality caring staff will insure that all students will be successful.
